Job Description: The role of a Flight Simulator Technician 2 is to safely provide maintenance and repair to all WestJet Training Devices (Full Flight Simulators, Cabin Trainers and Fix-Based Training Devices). A Simulator Technician 2 is responsible for ensuring that all training devices meet or exceed Transport Canada qualification standards and or Boeing specifications/regulations. A Simulator Technician 2 provides a safe, caring and clean working environment while offering an exceptional internal guest experience. Job Responsibilities: Ensure accurate and detailed documentation of procedures, processes and daily activities Troubleshoot and repair failed systems in normal and IROP situations Work effectively with strong verbal and written communication Perform additional tasks as discussed with other Technician’s and or Department Manager Perform preventive maintenance and testing on all training devices Assist with Quality Test Guide’s (QTG’s) as required Identify, research and submit requests for required parts Daily operational testing of scheduled training devices Qualification & Experience: Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills Proven ability to work unsupervised CAE Flight Simulator experience is an asset Intermediate knowledge of test and repair equipment (digital multi meter, oscilloscope, function generator, frequency counter, soldering equipment, etc) Able to obtain and maintain an Airport Restricted Area Pass Able to bend, kneel, crawl, stoop and climb repetitively Able to lift 50 pounds Intermediate knowledge of component troubleshooting and repair at a board level Completion of the WestJet Simulator Technician Apprenticeship Program or minimum 4 years of equivalent work experience required Intermediate knowledge of computer operating systems and software (CentOS, Windows XP, Windows 2000, MS Office, etc) Highly motivated, organized and priority driven Able to work in a 24/7 environment; shift work is required Basic knowledge of computer networking and computer programming in C, C++, and Fortran Intermediate knowledge of visual systems maintenance, calibrations, troubleshooting and repair pertaining to Flight Simulators Intermediate ability to interpret schematic diagrams Ability to work with hand and shop tools Basic knowledge of PLC operation and programming Job Details: Company: WestJet Vacancy Type: Full Time Job Location: Calgary, Alberta, CA Application Deadline: N/A Apply Here yours-vacancy.net
