Job Description: The unit supervisor assigns work and is available for assistance when required; however, the incumbent has wide latitude in determining the methods to be followed in completing assignments. Work is reviewed on a regular basis for completeness, technical accuracy and conformance to existing policy. When existing procedures do not apply, the incumbent may have to develop procedures using specifications for the equipment, vendor manuals, and past experience and are reviewed by the Supervisor for accuracy. The incumbent sets own priorities to meet established deadlines. Job Responsibilities: Manufacturer recommendations are used as a guide, but the incumbent must base maintenance action decisions on measurements and calculations taken in the field and prior in-depth experience. Performs studies to determine new methods of using existing or new technologies which improve building systems and provides better customer services. Identifies required maintenance actions based on a thorough knowledge and understanding of the various systems, equipment, and components and how they operate. Job Requirements: Must have demonstrated proficiency in electrical engineering as evidenced by completion of Engineering Graduate Progression Plan or equivalent post engineering graduate education and experience. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering or comparable related engineering discipline. Experience in preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance and a wide knowledge of various mechanical and electrical components and systems. It is desirable to be an active member of at least one professional organization such as IEEE, Professional Engineering, ISA, ASHRAE and etc. It is desirable to be a registered professional engineer.
