Job Description: As the Director of Supply Chain Engineering, you will lead a team of Engineers responsible for driving infrastructure and MHE (material handling equipment), continuous improvement and sustainability projects throughout Nike's North American Distribution and Fulfillment Network as well as leading an insights and analytics team. This includes process or business changes to stand up new capabilities, reduce operating costs, improve service, and increase capacity. Job Responsibilities: Hiring and developing a diverse team of Engineers. Talent development is a primary function of the Director role. Developing business cases for capital investments and seeking approval for these investments including RFP and AR processes. Providing thought-leadership and innovative ideas to tackle supply chain problems. Streamlining and optimizing fulfillment activities across the network. Supporting project work related to Nike’s Global Sustainability objectives, inclusive of identifying new project work. Setting strategic goals for an engineered standards program; managing successful implementations; and ensuring proper maintenance. Establishing and maintaining DC processing and storage capacity models for all Nike DCs in North America network. Leading analytical studies in collaboration with operations, targeting continuous process improvement. Providing courses of action and options for company expansion, operations, consolidation, engineering layouts, equipment selection, staffing, ergonomics, training, and optimization of resource utilization to improve competitive position for the broader organization. Establishing a strong partnership with all internal customers. This primarily includes DC operations but also includes Nike Tech, NLS, Maintenance and Process Excellence teams. Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related engineering/technical discipline. Experience leading teams of professional Engineers in corporate and field environments. 10 years of progressive experience in order fulfillment-related engineering, operations management, financial accounting and process costing. Experience leading teams in project work supporting direct-to-consumer (ecommerce) fulfillment operations. A background in the design, justification, and implementation of large-scale Material Handling Solutions. Preferably for apparel/footwear business. Direct ownership of capital budgets. Hands-on experience in the development and implementation of Engineered Standards programs and Labor Management tools. Strong knowledge of Industrial Engineering methods, tools and measurements including but not limited to. Strong project management and vendor managements skills. Competency in the use of work method measurement tools, information storage and retrieval, databases, spreadsheets and reporting techniques.
