Job Responsibilities: Evaluates, installs, configures, deploys, and maintains applications, systems software, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout the distribution enterprise. Coordinates, designs and deploys systems with the various infrastructure teams. Collaborates with all vested parties to develop the optimal solution and stand up initial environments, and support the transition through its software development life Cycle from development to full scale production. Manages system resources in partnership with various enterprise teams to assure maximum system performance and appropriate system capacity for peak periods and growth. Creates queries, programs, scripts, and reports supporting and adhering to change control policies that help to define and develop best practices for Systems Management. Collaborates with analysts, developers, QA teams, designers, and system owners in the testing of software programs and applications. Collaborates with network administrators and software engineers to assist with design specifications, program logic, and data conversions. Ensures all system elements work together through design reviews, providing constructive feedback to teams, and coaching team members on new technologies and project deliverables. Researches, recommends and develops innovative, automated, approaches for systems admins tasks. Collaborates with Enterprise Monitoring to provide sufficient monitoring and alerts for defined processing, SLAs, etc. Creates and maintains detailed, up-to-date technical documentation in a team repository. Works with Costco Infrastructure and Networking teams to provide support for both current and future solution landscapes. Manages/Coordinates virtual and physical servers including: server provisioning, upgrading, installing, monitoring, maintaining, and performance optimization. Job Requirements: General understanding and experience with installing and configuring large enterprise systems on Windows and Linux (RedHat) Server Operating Systems. Strong focus on design, build, deployment, security, system optimization, and customization. Experience with both Windows (2012 through 2019) and Linux Operating Systems (RHEL 7.x - 8.x). Experience with Oracle and SQL Server databases. Experience with scripting languages. Must have excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Must be able to operate independently with a high threshold for dealing with uncertainty, while simultaneously collaborating with various functional and technical teams. Proficiency in troubleshooting and root cause analysis. Must be able to work with limited supervision and exhibit a strong sense of urgency. General knowledge of client-server systems, preferably in the distribution category (WMS, TMS, etc.). Good understanding of corporate IT policies, procedures, standards and service level commitments. Periodic off-hours work required, including weekends and holidays. 24 x 7 on-call support on a rotation. Participation in off-site design and rollout activities, as well as validations of solutions (including DR/HA tests). Travel, including to Canada, may be required to support multiple projects. Qualification & Experience: Knowledge of enterprise orchestration and automation technologies like: Terraform, Puppet, & Ansible. Experience with cloud installations or migrations, preferably Azure. Experience with HighJump WMS and custom coded Java applications. Experience with Windows and Android client technologies. Experience with peripheral installation, configuration, customization, and triage. Understanding of middleware technologies and messaging systems. General networking experience and knowledge of foundational services and inter-system dependencies. At least one full cycle implementing a major software application.
